Today-March 24th is VedaVyasar Jayanthi.Vyasar classified the vedas into four parts.He was the one who wrote the legendary Hindu epic Mahabaratha.Some Vaishnava traditions also believe him to be the Avatar of Vishnu.He is one of the seven Chiranjeevis(imoortals) who are still in existence according to hindu belief.He is also the fourth member of Rishi Parampara of the Advaita Grur Paramapara of which Adi Sankara is the chief proponent.This is the day which he came to earth and on the same day he divided the Vedas into four and this day is celebrated Vedavyasa jayanthiSaturday, March 24, 2012
